Meet The Dentist

Mr. Miah graduated from Dundee University in 2009 and has amassed a wealth of experience working in general practice settings. He has continued to develop his knowledge by obtaining the prestigious diploma for membership of The Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in 2012.

Mr. Miah worked for many years across numerous sites in County Durham and Darlington and gained a reputation as an eminent professional. He has also provided dental treatment under Consultant led sedation. He is therefore very proficient at providing care for patients with dental anxiety/phobia.

Mr. Miah has completed an implant training course with the renowned Tipton-training program in Manchester. He is currently providing implant treatment in our practice to new and existing patients.

What is a dental implant?

A dental implant is a titanium screw that is embedded into the jaw bone. After a period of healing, a replacement artificial tooth is placed on top of the screw, filling any gaps and restoring your smile.

Every natural tooth has a root, which acts as an anchor and holds the tooth in the jawbone. The titanium screw used for dental implants, therefore, acts as substitute root for the new artificial tooth that will eventually be fitted.

Dentists use titanium as this metal has been found to have excellent bonding properties with the bone and becomes incorporated into the mouth’s internal system.

Implants are the ideal solution to replace missing teeth due to their strength and stability, natural look, feel and permanence.

Single Tooth Implant

A single dental implant replaces a missing or poor tooth through a small titanium ‘fixture’ that takes the place of the original root of the tooth. Gently implanted under local anaesthetic, the titanium ‘root’ bonds with the bone, providing more stability than a natural tooth’s root. All that’s left to do then is for the dentist to put in your brand new, permanent tooth.

Dental implants can have a huge impact on your quality of life. Many of our patients can now eat their favourite foods again and no longer feel they need to hide their smile.

All on 4 & All on 6 Implants

The full arch dental implant procedure – often referred to as ‘All-on-4®’, 'teeth in a day', 'same day teeth' or the 'same day smile‘- is a hugely popular solution that can permanently replace an entire arch of teeth - either upper or lower. The main procedure takes only one day.

It only takes 4 – 6 dental implants to support an entire arch of teeth (instead of the usual 8-10 implants). 

Full arch dental implants are the ultimate alternative to dentures and also provide an ideal solution for patients whose teeth are missing or failing. As they don’t require conventional bone grafting they are even suitable for people who’ve been told they can’t have traditional implants. The main implant surgery can take place under local anaesthetic in just one day.

We recommend the Prettau^®Bridge. As an alternative, we also offer the removable cobalt chrome / acrylic bridge. Both solutions deliver bright, natural-looking teeth.
